Painful Beginning

Last Thursday was the first worst night of the year. First my money did not arrive as I expected. Even tho' my Photography lessons are getting even better, something that I did NOT expected just happened and in the most ”interesting way”.

I'm not even sure of what happened yet. When I said goodbye and go home with my baby on hands, I go down a ONLY-ONE stair and I swear I stepped a cable of my Converse tennis and in just a few seconds I fell while holding my child. I tried to protect my Ana but everything happened so quickly...that I almost fell just overtop of her. But, you know, I gave it all everything for my Annie and I stoped falling using my knees and my left hand; I used my right hand to try to cover her head.

Annie's Godmother came faster than fast and immediately took my daughter and her mother came to me and helped me to stand up.

My right knee was puffing in a ”one-two-three”, I wasn't able to move or walk. But, you know what every mother do on that type of cases: stand up, walked step-by-step literally to check the baby.

I knew that she was fine, ”Los compadres” and their family are very careful and full-of-love with Ana. Anyways, I was not expecting to just wait and see what happens. I just called 911 to request medical help immediately.

Ana was crying in the most break-hearting' way, out of air, the left side of her body was reddish as hell, including her face. I was so nervous that I wasn't able to talk but 911 representative asked me the right questions and I could answer them in calm.

Once I ended the call, I went back to my house and pick some clothe and necessary stuff to the hospital because I though it would be a long night.

There was a horrible, brainstorming “battle” between my knees and hands vs my “Super Mom” being just to climb those stairs, pick some necessary stuff,  refiled Ana's bag, go down stairs, pick Ana, take her to the ambulance, get inside the ambulance and, finally, lay down on the stretcher.

Once there, I felt exhausted but Ana, well...

She was like in a Disneyland for the very first time! She always used to have fun looking the ambulance lights but this time she was inside!

She forgot the pain, she stop crying. She was totally impressed. She was curious just about e-ve-ry-thing! She was looking all around. Well...just pure happiness.

We arrived quickly because I live very close to the hospital. Paramedics didn't check the baby nor even me.They was just asking me a few questions of what happened, my address, name, etc.

A funny thing but weird at the same time is that, once hospital doors opens, I started to sniff almost immediately. Everyone started looking at me like if I was bringing a mortal virus and began to cover their and arty the same time, they was looking at Ana like ”awww, look at the baby”.

The nurses and the pediatrician attended Ana really fast. When I was just about to see, she was ready to get out of the hospital. Thanks heaven, she was totally fine and healthy. Redness just disappear, she was moving freely, she past all medical test. I was the one in pain and suffering...

But hey, guess what? Paramedics and nurses forgot to attend me, they didn't even bring my name to the adults list.

My mom came and take Ana back home. I decided to stay because it was really hurting me...NAH I waited a few minutes and I realized that I'm my case, it will took forever for the nurses to attend me so I leave, go home, get naked and go just straight to bed.

Oh, what a mess. But after a worst night, it suppose to came a prettier one, isn't?

Did you had a bad night too in this year? You know you can tell me. I'm all eyes to read you and ears to hear what you can tell.

I love you!
